Spring Cleaning?
A Top 10 List of Helpful Products/Tips
Add some paint!
-Since moving into a brand new house, my hubs and I have been working hard at putting our own personality into the home. Some great paint colors I’ve/my friends have come across: Silver Sage by Restoration Hardware, Balanced Beige by Sherwin Williams and Haystack by Benjamin Moore.
Vacuum Storage Bags
-My hubs and I didn’t always have breathing space – we lived in a tiny (I mean tiny) apt for years. Vacuum bags were the only savior in storing seasonal clothing!
Fresh Flowers
-A great way to pull any freshly cleaned room together!
Barkeeper’s Friend
-The staple cleaner your Mom and Grandmom always had on hand. This gentle cleaner effectively restores any bathtub to a shiny new appliance (also restores non-stick tub surfaces!)
Label Maker
-If you tend to be “Rubbermaid” tub happy when storing Christmas and winter items, a label maker is the best way to keep yourself organized and not be frantic when trying to break out those items next winter.
Seventh Generation Cleaning Products
-Being very sensitive to smell, I’ve been overcome by harsh cleaner fumes more than once! Using these products doesn’t make you feel as if you’ve lost more than your share of brain cells.
Solar Outdoor Deck Lighting
-A friend of mine suggested that I look into Solar string lights for my new backyard – how cool is this? Even cooler, you can get them cute and cheap at Ikea.
Add Some Reflection
-As my Mom says, “There should be a mirror in every room!” I don’t think you need to go that far but reflection certainly helps spread the sunshine throughout a room (especially near a window) – Why not? Sunburst mirrors are SO cute!
Pandora Account
-Who wants to clean in silence? Get yourself a free Pandora account at Pandora.com and stream your music through your smartphone, laptop or TV and dance the chores away!
Reusable Cloths
-Instead of using paper towels to clean with, dedicate a cloth to your windex, cloth for your countertop and cloth for your furniture – clean and then wash! Voila save some money and the planet.
